P-47 Thunderbolt 'Mary Lou'

This Republic built single seat fighter bomber entered USAAF service in 1942. The impact the long range planes made was dramatic. The P-47 became top scorers in Europe and their range was long. Top speed was 470 mph and range with drop tanks was 2350 miles. These planes were exceptionally rugged, only 0.7% were lost in combat.
